Young Cricketers

There are several young cricketers right now who have already displayed amazing potential. The cricketing community has fond memories of the past ten years since they saw Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, and Ravichandran Ashwin succeed internationally. They were all viewed as potential future stars of the game at the start of this decade. They then worked diligently and resolutely to carve out a successful profession.

Finally, as a result of their extraordinary success over the past ten years, they have achieved modern-day greatness in the gentleman’s game. In a similar vein, fans are now impatiently awaiting the superstars of the future. There are several young cricketers right now who have already displayed amazing potential.

Some of them have the capacity to make history and leave their mark on the world. In the process, these rising stars may also become cricketing legends of the following ten years.

The following 10 Next-Gen Young Cricketers Who Could Rule The Upcoming Decade:

1. Jofra Archer

The England squad lacked a true speed bowler for the majority of this decade. Even with players like James Anderson and Stuart Broad among their number, their bowling unit appeared to be flat. The team had trouble surprising the opponent with its bowling arsenal outside of England’s seaming wickets, but lately things have improved.

2. Babar Azam

This decade has seen several bittersweet experiences for the Pakistan cricket team. The majority of their highs have been tempered by the ensuing lows, but Babar Azam has been the spark that has kept their cricketing spirits alive in between. The youthful player has been making the right sounds with his run-scoring talents ever since his debut in 2015.

3. Kuldeep Yadav

Spinners are consistently referred to as match-winners throughout the history of Indian cricket. Even more proof of this may be seen in the recent revelation that Ravi Ashwin, with 564 wickets, is the highest wicket-taker of this decade.

Even though the fast bowlers have surpassed the Indian spinners in the previous few years, they are still a formidable force on their own. One of the crucial parts of that army is Kuldeep Yadav. The chinaman has played a regular role in India’s white-ball strategies thanks to his special skill for cricket. He has around 100 ODI wickets under his belt already, including two hat-tricks. He has two-fifers in six games, even in the traditional format.

4. Marnus Labuschagne

Yes, Marnus Labuschagne, who scored more over 350 runs in his debut Ashes season, is the subject at hand. More than his runs, what attracted the cricketing world’s attention was his tenacity in the face of a top-notch bowling attack that included Stuart Broad and Jofra Archer. Labuschagne appeared to be the answer to the nation’s protracted middle-order issues.

5. Nicholas Pooran

Sadly, issues have hampered West Indies cricket, slowing down the sport’s development in the region. However, there is still optimism because the team includes several gifted young athletes. One of them is Nicholas Pooran, who in these difficult circumstances has emerged as a bright find for the island nation.

6. Shubman Gill

One of the most potential young stars in cricket right now is Shubman Gill of India. He amassed 372 runs at an average of 124 during the 2018 Under-19 World Cup, earning Player of the Series honours. He scored an undefeated 102 * against Pakistan in the semifinals. Shubman Gill floated in admiration by the past cricketers following that innings. In both the Test and ODI forms, he has already made his Test debut for India. Additionally, Gill has been a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders since 2018 in the IPL.

7. Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman, a right-handed off-spinner for Afghanistan, is the first professional cricket player to be born in the twenty-first century. The youngest player to ever take five wickets in an ODI is Mujeeb. He has made a name for himself as a dependable spinner in T20 cricket. He is now participating in regular franchise leagues all around the world as a result. Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman will undoubtedly serve as the Afghan national team’s future leader.

8. Shaheen Afridi

Shaheen Afridi, a tall young fast bowler, drew everyone’s attention by winning the most wickets (12) for Pakistan in the 2018 ICC Under-19 World Cup. Since making his debut for the Pakistani national team that same year, Shaheen Afridi has been participating consistently in international competition. Afridi has already taken many wickets in international play. If he can remain reliable, this left-arm medium pacer can guide Pakistan’s bowling assault this decade.

9. Prithvi Shaw

India won the 2018 ICC U19 World Cup under Prithvi Shaw’s leadership. Prithvi’s batting prowess was praised by former Indian great Sachin Tendulkar, therefore it didn’t take long for this gifted cricketer to make his international debut. He participated in his debut Test match against the Windies in October 2018 and recorded a century. If he can keep up his consistency, Prithvi Shaw might emerge as one of India’s top Test batsmen this decade.

10. Haider Ali

The Pakistani team’s vice-captain at the Under-19 World Cup in 2020 was Haider Ali. Within a short length of time, the selectors saw this aggressive batsman, and in September 2020, he played his first international match against England. In the PSL, he represents Peshawar Zalmi. One of the top limited-overs batsmen of this decade might be Haider Ali in the future.

To sum up

Rise to the level of being regarded as leading players in a given generation requires genuine excellence and a significant lot of devotion. The reality is that talented cricketers are not frequently born. So, among the youthful generation, who will carry the flag? The individuals mentioned above have a chance to dominate cricket in the next ten years.
